Outcomes
Students are able to:

• document processes for the design of a mechatronics product that satisfies a set of design requirements;
• integrate mechanical, electrical and software requirements into a product ;
• develop quantitative testing and evaluation strategies in the construction and operation of a mechatronic product;
• build a safe mechatronics product ;
• use industry-standard engineering documentation and processes ; and
• work effectively as an individual and in a team

Content
This is the design unit for the BE-AR degree (Automation and Robotics Engineering). Students will work in groups of four to design, build and test a solution for that year's Warman Competition

Assessment

• Project solution 60%
• Personal conduct 10%
• Group report 30%

Contact Hours
Groups will meet at their own times.
The weekly supervised lab session is Mon. 14:00 - 16:00 in the Robotics Lab (Mech. G.01).
